- Develop all water services assets, new water services assets and sewerage services asset;
- Prepare on behalf of the state, plans for the maintenance and development of water services, water services assets and new water services assets in the state (referred to as the “Development Plans”), pursuant to consultation with the relevant authorities and consumer group;
- Identify and implement projects for the provision of water services which may be undertaken with private sector participation, pursuant to consultation with the authorities, in order to fulfill the water service obligation of the state;
- Ensure the supply of potable water in the state, either pursuant to project agreements with private participants, or by raising necessary funds through the capital;
- Control and manage all waterworks and ground water in the state;
- Extend and develop existing waterworks and sewerage services in the state;
- Establish, manage, control and develop new waterworks and sewerage systems for public, agricultural, domestic, industrial and general purpose in the state;
- Ensure the supply of adequate and potable water through the state at reasonable charges;
- Manage and regulate waste and sewerages services in the state;
- Verify and monitor compliance by private participant with any project agreements;
- Establish an implement proper accounting procedures for all of the assets and liabilities of the corporation
- Encourage from time to time the conduct of research for the purposes of carrying out the functions of the corporation;
- Submit the result of such research to the Board for the utilization of same for the formation of the policy relating to water supply, and water pollution control in the state;
- Authorize or delegate any officer, employee or servant of the Corporation to act as agent of the Corporation for any functions, services or facilities which may be exercised, performed or provided the corporation under this law;
- Establish four (4) Standing Board Committees or any other ad-hoc Committee as provided under this law;
- Undertake accounting of Public Assets;
- Warehouse existing liabilities; and
- Manage public financing, including loans (multilateral and local).
