LWC ORGANIZES INTENSIVE ENLIGHTENMENT WORKSHOP FOR PORT-HARCOURT WATER AGENCY

The Lagos Water Corporation has on Monday, 12th December  2022 held an intensive enlightenment workshop for its Port-Harcourt counterpart, as the agency understudies LWC’s operational system, while making a four-day study visit to the Lagos Water Corporation Headquarter, Ijora.

 The PH Water Corporation which is expected to commence operations soon, and which also aims to provide sustainable access to safe drinking water and sanitation to the residents of Port-Harcourt city, has revealed that this visit was conceived in order to improve efficiency and service delivery at the water corporation.

Engr. Sunny Elisha, the leader of the team of experts from the PH Water Corporation explained that part of their drive towards successfully implementing the rehabilitation and extension of the Port-Harcourt water supply system has been to understudy other reputable and successful water utilities, both nationally and internationally.

“LWC is one of the leaders in the WASH sector, having one of the largest water utilities in Nigeria and in Africa, while also managing a large population of residents in the Lagos metropolis.”

He also said his team would appreciate an in-depth review of the operations, both commercial and technical, performed by the Lagos Water Corporation.

The MD/CEO, Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Badmus who was represented at the event by the Head, Strategy and Projects, Engr. Ogunlewe, described the visit as apt and instructive for the development of the WASH sector as a whole.

Engr. Titi Bright-Oridami, took the group through a presentation that lasted few minutes, but thoroughly explored the areas of LWC’s operations, including its histories, strengths and successes.

Also participating in the meeting were Head, Finance&Accounts, Mr. Ibrahim Aro, Head, Sales & Commercial, Mr. Tayo Ajose, Head, Admin & HR, Mr. Sheriff Akinpelu, Company Secretary, Mr. Fashola, Head, Technical Services, Engr. Richard Otukpe, Director, Water Resources, Mrs. Odimayo, Head, Corporate Communication, Mrs. Kehinde Fashola, and Engr. Adekola, Director, Production.

The visiting team expressed their gratitude to the management of LWC, owning their appreciation over their prompt response, despite the short notice that was given.

The study tour is expected to continue in the coming days.
