LWC PRESENTS BOND CERTIFICATES TO 22 RETIREES

The Lagos State Government through the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), on Wednesday, 21st  December, 2022 at the Lagos Water Corporation Headquarter, Ijora presented Bond Certificates worth over 31 million, to the second batch of 2020 retirees, who in line with the pension scheme have qualified for their accrued benefits.

The MD/CEO, LWC, Engr. Muminu Badmus who was in attendance at the ev ent described the Bond Certificates as the proof of a rewarding career and a clear path for the retirees, to accessing their pension fund without delay.

“Today, the LWC is giving out almost 32 million to 22 retirees, and this is a badge of our dedication to ensuring ex-employees are not kept waiting and almost financially impoverished after retiring statutorily from service.

“When I assumed office in 2015, I set plans in motion to ensure retirees get their benefits within five months of leaving service, and although these plans have not been totally successful, I am still elated that the Corporation has continued to pay out retirement benefits consistently”, the MD noted.

He thanked the retirees for their patience, hard work, loyalty and brilliance while in active service, and also charged them to spend the money judiciously and not on fruitless endeavors. The participants who were there as representatives for their deceased loved ones were commiserated with by the MD while he also prayed for the souls of the deceased.

While reaffirming his commitment to the regular payment of retirement benefits, he explained that this presentation was for the second batch of the 2020 retirees, and the next batch would be made before the end of 2023’s first quarter.

The MD also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu for his assistance in the payment of pension benefits, and for his involvement in ensuring enhanced support for staff.
